Angola Will Welcome "Nzadi" Submarine Cable To Strengthen Its Connection With Africa And The World
Recently, Nzadi Consortium and WFN Strategies announced the "Nzadi" submarine optical cable project.
The “Nzadi” project includes a trunk line from Luanda, Angola, to Cabinda, in southwest Africa, and a branch connecting Soyo, to create a south-to-north expansion system. Provide direct access to the neighboring Congo. According to the plan, "Nzadi" will contain 14 pairs of optical fibers and will be put into operation as soon as the fourth quarter of 2023.
Domingos Coelho, chairman of Nzadi's board of directors, said: "The project will strive to support as much local content as possible to benefit qualified local companies."
As a key facility responsible for long-distance data loads, submarine cables can provide support for interaction between local companies and overseas markets with lower delay lines.
Moreover, other local traditional telecom operators and Internet service providers will also participate in co-financing and jointly building future systems, reducing investment and operating expenses, and providing higher quality services. Ideally, it is expected that new connections will be reduced and the previous services will be insufficient The end user usage cost in the region.
And Wayne Nielsen, managing director of WFN Strategies, also responded to the latest cooperation, expressing his expectation to support this new system and its goals, and hopes to enhance connectivity with various offshore oil and gas assets and adjacent areas.
