The proposal for the signing of the memorandum of understanding establishes a legal framework for replacing interconnections between fiber optic networks and establishes a joint committee responsible for implementing the memorandum of understanding and all subsequent agreements.

According to reports, the previous Ministry of Telecommunications will reduce the cost by directly connecting the current respective optical fiber networks through land cables without the need to go through international submarine cables.


This is also part of the fourth phase of the China-Africa backbone network project, with a total length of 528 kilometers, including a fiber-optic network connecting the city of Bois and Ebolo (located in Cameroon) via Koumameyong, Lalara, Mitzic, Oyem and Bitam The highest is 411 kilometers, and a branch path connecting Oyan-Bifoun-Lamberene, 117 kilometers away.
