Egypt's Largest International Data Center Is Planned To Be Put Into Operation In Early 2021
Telecom Egypt issued a statement saying that it plans to build Egypt's largest international data center to consolidate its position as the largest submarine cable operator in the region.
Telecom Egypt announced in a statement that the new data center will be put into use in early 2021 and will be located in the Smart Village technology center in Cairo.
The data center will have access to all the global submarine cable systems currently connected to Egypt and 10 Mediterranean and Red Sea submarine cable landing stations, allowing access to more than 60 countries around the world.
The operator said that the data center will have enhanced hosting services and higher levels of redundancy. The facility will accommodate up to 2,000 racks in four Colo Modular facility parks. Egypt Telecom currently has 6 data centers across the country.
