Huawei OTN wins Austrian railway optical network upgrade order
On August 27, 2018, Lightwave reported that Huawei has announced that it has won an optical fiber network upgrade order from the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). Based on OTN and DWDM technologies, the upgraded fiber network will support 100Gbps services and will be extended to Germany.
Huawei's multi-service OTN platform for OBB supports virtual line and packet cross-connect functions. Each pair of fibers supports 100Gbps services, and the total traffic can reach 8Tbps. In the future, each pair of fibers can be upgraded to support 400Tbps. In addition, the system also supports automatic Fiber optic detection "fiber doctor" and "light path doctor" function.
