Huawei plans to increase South Korea's investment in expanding its 5G Communication network infrastructure share in the Korean market
It is reported that a senior network official said recently that Huawei plans to expand its investment in Korean 5G infrastructure and services to strengthen its market share in this key market.
South Korean operator LG Uplus has already used Huawei equipment in its 5G infrastructure and plans to launch a commercial 5G network next month.
LG Uplus and Huawei also demonstrated ultra-HD video and virtual reality services based on 5G networks at the World Mobile Communications Conference (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. At the show, more than 2,400 leading companies showcased the latest technologies and products.
Zhun Huimi, vice president of Huawei 5G Global, said: "We are very excited and are still communicating with other operators. There will be many seminars or cooperation activities in the future. We will spare no effort to support Korean operators to expand the communication system."
Zhun, the chief marketing officer of Huawei's wireless network product line and solutions, said that Huawei's 5G equipment is more secure than 4G, but in some markets, certain markets have been created due to security issues caused by “political” motives during the US trade war. The entry of Huawei devices is prohibited.
Zhun said: "The security of 5G is better than 4G. So we think we can handle the security issue completely. And I think this is a political issue, I personally can't handle this problem."
