Recently, MaxLinear (NYSE:MXL), an RF and mixed-signal chip company, announced the release of the MxL9154 and MxL9124 quad-transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs). These two products are the latest members of the MaxLinear series of Telluride components for linear PAM4 400Gbps network systems that will help system vendors develop compact 400Gbps optical interconnect modules for use in data centers.
The MxL9154 features low input reference noise performance of 11pA/sqrt (Hz) while consuming 200MW of power per channel. The device achieves 3% linearity under overload conditions and satisfies the stringent 53-Gbaud PAM4 requirements. It also provides bandwidths greater than 25 GHz, including photodiode (PD). The TIA also provides receive signal strength indicator (RSSI) output for all four channels. MaxLinear said that the combination of the MxL9154 and the MxL9354X PAM4 digital signal processor (DSP) system-on-chip (SoC) provides top performance with both cost and power consumption.
MaxLinear has already started sampling the MxL935XX series 400Gbps PAM4 DSP SoC in January this year.
