NTT Has Developed A 6G Chip With A Transmission Rate of Up To 100Gbps!
Recently, Japan ’s NTT Group ’s equipment technology laboratory developed a 6G ultra-high-speed chip made of phosphide (InP) compound semiconductors, and conducted high-speed wireless transmission experiments in the 300GHz band. When 16QAM modulation is used, wireless transmission up to 100Gbps rate.
Since 100Gbps wireless transmission rate is realized by only one carrier, it will be expanded to multiple carriers in the future, and the use of spatial multiplexing technologies such as MIMO and OAM. Through this combination, it can be expected that ultra-high-speed integrated circuits will support large-capacity wireless transmissions exceeding 400 Gpbs, which will be 40 times that of 5G technology.
From the current point of view, the research around 6G has just begun, and there are still many uncertainties and problems to be solved. It is expected that commercialization will not be possible until 2030 at the earliest.
