FC APC Optic Patch Cord

The FC connector was first developed by Japan NTT. FC is an abbreviated form of Ferrule Connector. The connector is round with thread. It adopts the external reinforcement method of metal sleeve. The fastening method is screw buckle. It is generally used on the ODF side (the most used on the distribution frame). The connector has a simple structure, convenient operation and easy manufacture. At the same time, it uses metal joints, compared with plastic joints, FC joints can be plugged more times. Later, the FC connector was further improved by using a spherical pin (PC) with a mating end face, which greatly improved the insertion loss and return loss performance. As with other types of connectors, FC fiber connectors also have three grinding methods, namely PC, UPC and APC.

As with other types of connectors, FC fiber connectors also have three grinding methods, namely PC, UPC and APC. 

Among them, PC is microsphere grinding and polishing, and its joint section is flat, often used in multi-mode, and is most widely used in telecommunication operator equipment.

UPC has less attenuation than PC and is often used in single mode. In order to improve the index of ODF equipment itself, some foreign manufacturers often use FC / UPC as the fiber jumper inside the ODF frame.

APC is a slanted connector, which is widely used in radio and television and early CATV, only for single mode. This kind of joint adopts the angled end face, which can improve the quality of the TV signal to a certain extent.
