Korea Telecom helps Chile's 3,000-kilometer submarine cable construction

Korea Telecom (KT) has signed an agreement with Chilean telecommunications operator CTR (Comunicacion y Telefonia Rural) to oversee the construction of the world's southernmost submarine cable.

Under the terms of the contract, KT will be responsible for inspecting, managing and supervising the construction of the 3,000-kilometer submarine cable system connecting Montenegro and Williams Port as part of the Chilean government's $100 million "Fibra Optica Austral" project.
